New Jersey Casinos Ready to Reopem

The budget stalemate has now reached its conclusion and the casinos await reopen orders.

New Jersey representatives have come to terms on a new state budget but the casinos reopening is still unclear.

Gov. Jon S. Corzine, is expected to have a budget announcement and official statement on when can the casinos can resume their normal operations.

Dozen of casinos in the Atlantic City were forced to shutdown their operations July 5th because of the budget impasse.

Without the budget the state workers cannot be paid thus the Casino Control Commission is one of the government offices that were ordered to close. Without the presence of employees of Casino Control Commission, the casinos cannot continue its operations because there would be no inspectors to keep an eye on the casino operations.

The casinos tried to appeal in the Commission decision but the state Supreme Court judge sided with the state. The closure resulted in losses of more than one million dollars per day in revenue taxes.

If the operations were not forcibly halted, the Borgata casino whould be in day two of their Borgata Summer Open. A recorded message in the casino says that they are now preparing to open as soon as they get official orders.

Likewise, the Trump Taj Mahal is waiting for a formal announcement regarding the reopening of the casinos.
